What to expect from the Mingo and Farrar VBS

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a ministry outreach that Mingo and Farrar United Methodist churches provide to educate children about God. Together, we present a Vacation Bible School program and teach a fun and exciting biblical curriculum, with a shipwrecked theme! Learn more about this exciting opportunity for a week full of summer fun.

What information You’ll get:

Children learn about the bible through fun, age-appropriate activities.
Life lessons help every child learn how to be a good person and a friend to others.
Perfect for younger children to get a feel for camp without having to go away overnight.
Kids meet new friends who share their beliefs.
You don’t have to be a church member to attend VBS.

The kids have a special program for their families on the closing night

Registration

Opening

This is the time the kids get to be crazy and loud!

Crafts

The kids will have a chance each day to create a new craft related to the topic of the night.

Music

Each night, the kids will learn different praise songs with actions. At the end of the week, the kids will present a program for their families!

Bible Stories

During this time, the kids center down for a quiet (but sometimes loud) biblical lesson. Each night there will be a different bible lesson.

Recreation

At this time, we let the kids go wild (within reason)! The recreation leader will play a themed game that lets the kids stretch their legs and have some outdoor fun.

Snack

We can’t have a VBS without food. Each night there will be a different snack that is themed to the evening lesson. We also oversee children’s diet restrictions as needed (gluten free options available).

Closing

VBS Closing Night

Families & friends are invited to join the kids as they sing and present what they learned through the week. This is followed by a party (with water)!
